Project Genesis

What was there in the beginning, you ask? Light, I say! That was the basic idea in this house. This four bedroom home in McKinney, hosts a family that is known for its warmth and for spreading love & encouragement to others in the community. A family that loves art & music, family & friends, food & laughter.

The aura of this home was just positive and inspiring. What it needed though was light! Because without that light, it became almost impossible to see all that goodness. The house did not reflect the character of its inhabitants. And that is where we walked in, with our magic wand or in this case magic brush.

The color inspiration for this project, was a painting that our client had done herself. You will see we have used that picture over the repurposed blue cabinet in the living room. It spoke about her personality, her love for colors and her commitment towards her friends.

The kitchen renovation was fun. We worked out new backsplash and painted the cabinets and viola, you had a new kitchen! The whole house got a new coat of fresh paint, which was carefully chosen to reflect more light into the house.

The furniture and art is a mix of new and old. We reworked the dining table and added new chairs to it. Repurposed a dining cabinet, and painted it bold blue. We were asked by the clients to dispose the cabinet, but we made it highlight of the house. Using the art work and paintings done by the family, made this very much personalized.

So there it was a home that reflected the personalities of people living in there.. and all that was to do was to achieve the perfect light!

Stay blessed,
